Detectives are appealing for information after a 28-year-old man was deliberately hit by a car in Dumfries.
Police are treating the incident as attempted murder.
The man was struck by the car on Criffel Road, near Lincluden Road, at about 23:20 on Saturday.
He was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries.
